Chosen brief

 I have chosen the print magazine brief because I am interested in creating an interesting production which successfully targets a 16-25 year old middle market audience. 

 

Generic research - case studies

These 3 case studies include strong genre conventions, showcasing the artist as successful, attractive. The jazz magazine uses an image of an instrument, a convention of music magazines, representing the artist as a talented saxophonist, the artic monkeys cover uses autographs to adhere to the music genre and appeal audiences. Rayes edition is typical of a pop artist- this isn’t a music magazine but as a mainstream artist is featured. 

Intertextuality- the use of intertextuality is rich in the artic monkeys cover, using their autographs, names and cover lines
